Unlocking the Profound Benefits of Guiding Others

The other day I met a friend after a long time. We talked a lot about private and professional things. It was a long evening and a wonderful exchange. Above all, I was delighted about her professional successes. She is now the manager of her own department, she knows how to sell herself and put others in their place.

That was not always the case. A few years ago, she was too shy to put herself out there. She thought that if something was written, everyone would read the text. So, she was overlooked by her bosses because they didn’t have time to read the detailed text.

She also has a high need for harmony. She cannot understand that others work against her, although she means well and actually wants to work together. But there is a rule in business: Where there is success, there are envies!

Therefore, keep it with Oscar Wilde, who said: “The number of our envies confirms our abilities”. Where there is success, there are also envies – but where there are envies, there is also success!

That’s what I told her at the time.

Now I could see what an excellent development she had made.  During our conversation, I sometimes silently thought that I would have done the same.

For me, it was a great satisfaction to see that I could make a small contribution by passing on my experience.

What’s in it for me?
